Fine motor skills are the ability to perform fine and precise movements with the hand and fingers as a result of the coordinated actions of the nervous system, vision, attention, memory and perception of the child. It includes a wide variety of moving objects.
The success of a future first grader consists of many indicators. One of them is the development of fine motor skills.
Here are some of the things we will do:
• design and carry out crafts with as many different types of materials.
• building with Lego
• games with small items (example picking up pom pom balls with tongs)
• finish drawing elements of a picture or pattern, shading.
• and clay for those building skills!
Accurate and well-coordinated finger movements affect the development of a child’s thinking and speech. But the usual exercises are boring, so we play!
